Enter the First Annual Feathers `N Fins Pet Haiku Contest

    *    Entries must be received via email or in store by May 30th (see below)

    *    Entries must be your own original work with a reference to your pet

    *    Winners will be posted on our website and at Feathers `N Fins *

    *    Prizes:    1st Place -  $100    2nd Place - $50    3rd Place - $25

Haiku:  A popular form of Japanese poetry

1.  Haiku is always three lines

2.  Haiku always contains a reference to a season and the natural world (in our contest, a pet)

3.  Haiku contains a break after the first or second line (can be indicated with a comma or dash)

4.  Haiku usually describes everyday life and events (use your pet as inspiration)

5.  First line has 5 syllables, 2nd Line has 7 syllables, and 3rd line has 5 syllables.

Kona sleeps loudly -

Dreaming of playing and food

Running and shaking.

 

Listening for sound -

Silence deafening in breeze

Boy and dog meet again.
